Friday, Nov. 1, 5-8pm & Saturday, Nov. 2, 11am-6pm: Horse of a Different Color Art Supply Exchange. A benefit for Arts West and the PRISM Youth Art Program. Clean out your crafting closet and get your gold, silver, or bronze ticket(s) to exchange for an item or items of equal (estimated) value. Drop off new or gently/partially utilized supplies to Arts West, Oct. 14-Nov. 2 (Mon-Fri 11am-6pm - or call 740-592-4315 for extended hours); Members Night - Fri, Nov. 1, 5-8pm (free entry for members); Public Exchange - Sat, Nov. 2, 11am-6pm ($10 admission; free entry for members). Square Dance Social and String Jam. Square Dances are back at Arts West starting Oct 17th, with Caller Joe Burdock and musicians Matt McElroy & Friends! Open String Jam at 6pm, followed by Dancing at 7pm. This dance features Avalanche Pizza by the slice so come hungry. BYOB (with valid ID). $6 Admission

Friday, Oct. 18, 8-10:45pm: Masquerade Drum Circle. Wear a mask or show up in full costume for a night of drumming and dancing. All levels and ages welcome. Put the worry of your days away and become one with the rhythm. Drum, dance or just listen and take it in. There is a place in the circle for everyone. If you have never played an instrument, feel free to borrow one and participate in the sound! Free Parking on the street and in the lot. Food & Bevs allowed. B.Y.O.B (w/Valid 21+ I.D.). Sunday, Oct. 20, 2-4pm: Fizzy Friends Preserved Food, Drink and Pickle Exchange! Bring 2 or more jars of preserved food or drink (ferments, pickles, jellies and jams, or homemade beer or wine). 1 jar goes on the potluck table and the rest are for the exchange. After tasting the items and disussing the preservation processes, participants can exchange their jars for those brought by others. Free Admission.

Friday, Oct. 25, 5-7pm: Reception for Tina Fisher's, "Oh, Deer! I've Lost My Head", Art Exhibition. For this show Fisher, a professional photographer based in Corning, Ohio, dabbles in mixed media photography with an eerie twist on mundane activities. Her work will be on display Oct. 1 - Nov. 27. The reception will feature live music. Free Admission
Sunday, Oct. 27, 3-5pm: BASSics, A Hands on Workshop in Upright and Electric Bass. A beginner friendly introduction to upright and electric bass. Visiting musician Barbara Rosner, of Kentucky Wild Horse will lead Upright Bass Basics with instruction in hand position, playing in jams, ideas for practicing and how to improve. Mike Makosky, Athens local, of Apple and Moon, Goodbye Goats, and Unmonumental will lead Electric Bass Intro, teaching amp basics and volume, hand position, playing with others, and more. Both teachers have over 20 years of playing and teaching experience.For ages 16 and up. $12 Suggested Donation. Pre registration is required to assure we have enough basses!
