[ARCHIVED] Donations Needed for Halloween Game Night

trickortreat

Athens Community Members,

It’s that time of year again!  Fall has come upon us and the Athens Community Arts, Parks, and Recreation Department is in the planning process of the Annual Halloween Game Night and Costume Parade.  This long standing tradition is put on every year by our department. This year the event will be held Thursday, October 26th, at the Athens Community Center. As usual, the Athens Kiwanis Club will be hosting the costume parade and contest, where prizes will be awarded for several different costume categories.  The event will have games, crafts, music by DJ Rockin’ Reggie, contests and much more!!  Prizes, refreshments, and of course, candy will be provided.

The Halloween event will kick off with the Kiwanis Club hosting the costume parade. At the conclusion of the parade, we will provide games and carnival atmosphere for all ages in the community center gym.  This community event is FREE and open to anyone and everyone.  The Halloween Game Night offers a chance to come together as a community to have fun in a family friendly environment that welcomes all.

Last year we had over 700 attendees!  However, since this is a FREE community event, we need your support!  We are asking for local businesses to donate whatever they can from monetary donations, gift certificates, merchandise, candy and/or volunteers.  Sponsors will be fully noted and advertised as key components to the successful night!  Throughout the night, announcements will be made to acknowledge and thank our wonderful sponsors that donated to make the event possible. .

The Halloween Game Night starts out with a $0 budget each year, and we rely on our community to fund this FREE community event.  If you would like to make a donation, please see the attached form.  The form can be filled out during the initial meeting, or if you need time to prepare your donation you can mail the form to the Athens Community Center, or call us at 740-593-3325 and we can make arrangements.  Donations are requested by October 25th, 2017.  We are very excited to kick off this event, and looking forward to working with you.  Let’s make this year’s event the best one yet!

Sincerely,

Samantha Bower
