The City of Athens Engineering & Public Works Department will begin the 2018 Street Improvements Project, which will include milling, paving, and crack sealing of various streets within the City.
The following streets are included in annual paving:
Richland Avenue, Union Street, Cable Lane, Dairy Lane, West State Street, Columbia Avenue, Strouds Run Road, Northwood Drive, South May Avenue, Hillcrest Drive, Strathmore Blvd., Banbury Drive, Spring Street, North Lancaster Street, Columbus Bike Path Spur, Armitage Road, Second Street, Franklin Avenue, Joneswood Drive, Orchard Lane, Riverview Drive, Brown Avenue, Central Avenue, Clarke Street, Currier Street, Fort Street, Garfield Avenue, North Congress Street, North Shafer Street, Rardin Avenue, Harris Street, Troy Street, Alexander Avenue, Cornwell Street, Grant Street, Home Street, Maplewood Avenue, Ohio Avenue, Sunnyside Drive, Euclid Drive, Grand Park Boulevard, Pleasantview Drive, Townsend Place, Washington Street, Andover Road, Carroll Road, Lamar Drive, Nottingham Lane, University Estates Boulevard, Larsons Way, Kimes Road, Blue Line Avenue, East Park Drive, South Green Drive, West Green Drive, Race Street, Oxbow Trail, and Rufus Street.

August 20, 2018 Bike Path Spur- Columbus Road
August 21, 2018 Armitage Road - St. Rt. 682 to RR
August 22, 2018 West Union Street - Jefferson Street to river bridge
August 24, 2018 West State - N. Shafer to N. Lancaster
This schedule is subject to change in the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Two-way traffic will be maintained with flaggers; however, motorists are encouraged to avoid the work areas.
Parking on the street will not be allowed during the scheduled work. On street parking will be removed 24 hours in advance of work days. Please direct questions to the Engineering and Public Works Department at 740-593-7636.
