[ARCHIVED] City of Athens - West Union Street Improvements Project - Public Comment Period Extension

The comment period to allow interested parties an opportunity to review and comment on planned improvements for West Union Street and the extension of Herrold Avenue to West State Street has been extended.  This extension is to allow comment on the expanded projects limits needed to improve the sanitary sewer from Shafer Street to Depot Street.

The sanitary sewer improvements are anticipated to follow Union Street, Factory Street, and Station Street, ending at the Depot Street intersection. An exhibit of the proposed construction limits, including the limits for the sanitary sewer improvements, is available on the City’s website: https://www.ci.athens.oh.us/DocumentCenter/View/8148/PID-108672_Revised-Construction-Limits_09032020

Comments about the proposed construction limits may be submitted until midnight, September 18, 2020 to 30 Curran Drive, Athens OH 45701 or via email to epwsupport@ci.athens.oh.us.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for these projects are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a memorandum of understanding dated June 6, 2018, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
