The City of Athens has secured Fields Excavating to complete the Water System Improvements Project. This project consists of work in the Joneswood Drive, Terrace Drive, Riverview Drive, McGuffey Lane, Ransom Road, and Harris Road areas of the City of Athens. The work consists of abandoning existing 6” and 8” water main lines, installing new water main lines and replacing water service lines to water meters, and overlaying the streets once the waterlines are installed.
Fields Excavating is expected to begin the installation of the waterline on Terrace Drive on Thursday, September 20, 2012. During the installation of the waterlines in this area Joneswood Drive, Terrace Drive, and Riverview Drive will be closed to through-traffic.
