    John Terry Art Opening at Arts West (Downstairs Gallery) Friday, July 5th, 5-7pm, as part of a double opening with the Passion Works Guitar Show. The opening reception is free and will include refreshments. John is an artist based in Athens, Ohio, and has been producing work for a couple of decades. His show will be on display in the Arts West Lower Gallery July 5th-27th. Artist Bio - John Tavener Terry is a mixed media artist with a B.F.A. in printmaking from West Virginia University and an M.F.A. in painting from Ohio University. His thesis show entitled “Rebuilding the Rhythm of the City and Soul” garnered high accolades among his peers. John recently exhibited a solo show in New York City and his art has graced the covers of several albums including those of his younger brother’s band, Red Wanting Blue. John resides in the foothills of southern Ohio and enjoys finding beauty in the simple things in life.

    Passion Works: Guitar Show at Arts West Opening Reception Friday, July 5th, 5-7pm Passion Works is taking over the Arts West upstairs gallery for most of July with an amazing array of painted guitars and original artworks by the Passion Works artists ? Thanks to Blue Eagle Music for donating most of the guitars! The show will be on display July 5th-27th. The opening on July 5th will feature live music and refreshments. Free admission. Passion Works Studio is a collaborative community arts center. At the heart and soul of Passion Works is a core group of practicing professional artists with developmental differences. People who were historically perceived as unemployable, non-viable citizens, are today creating visual evidence of the depth and wealth of the creative human spirit. Offered a responsive structure, quality materials and welcoming space the artists reciprocate with wildly imaginative, beautiful creations that are fresh and approachable.
