  2. Crafternoon! for Kids (Grades K-3) - Arctic Animal Ceramic and Glass Bowls

January 11, 2021, 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM @ Athens Community Center Arts and Crafts Room

Students will get a chance to explore the Arctic Seas with this exciting ceramics project! After making a bowl out of clay, students will create an arctic animal of their choosing, which will be decorated with colored slips and placed in the bowl. The pieces will be double fired in a kiln, with the second firing featuring the inclusion of glass beads which will melt down to create a “sea water” effect at the bottom of the bowl! Materials and firing costs have been generously donated by Nelsonville Emporium. Bowls will be available for pick up at the end of January.
