The City of Athens announces there is a water main line break on the east side of Athens from Utah Place to Townsend Place. Crews are onsite repairing the leak. A boil advisory will be issued once service is restored for at least 24 hours. For information on what streets are affected by the boil order please call the boil order hotline at 594-5078 once the boil order is issued. Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible so crews can safely make the repair. The City of Athens apologizes for the inconvenience. An updated news release will follow as the situation develops.
