[ARCHIVED] The City of Athens will be accepting sealed bids for a 1991 Sutphen Pumper

The City of Athens will be accepting sealed bids for a 1991 Sutphen Pumper. The bids will be received by the Service-Safety Director, in City Hall at 8 East Washington Street, Athens, Ohio until 2:00 p.m., local time, September 24, 2015.

The minimum bid is $25,000. The bid envelope must have “Fire Truck” clearly marked on the outside of the envelope. The highest bidder will be notified shortly after the bid opening. The vehicle will be available immediately after funding is received and clears the bank. The vehicle will be available to view at the Athens Fire Headquarters (located at 61 Columbus Rd.) by appointment. Please contact Chief Robert Rymer, at 740-592-3301 for additional information or to schedule a viewing of the vehicle. The purchaser is responsible for removing all Athens Fire Department logos 30 days after purchase.

Winning bid must be paid within five days of the bid award. In the event the highest bid results in a tie, the bidders will be contacted and afforded an opportunity to re-bid. Rules for bidding due to a tie will be the same and a new date for bids to be received will be conveyed to the tied bidders.

The City of Athens reserves the right to reject any and all bids that do not comply with the bid rules.
