DV Weber, the Contractor for the Richland Avenue Lighting and Sidewalk Project, is expected to begin work next week. The project includes sidewalk replacement and the installation of decorative lighting on Richland Avenue between South Shafer Street and the Oxbow Bridge.
The Contractor will begin work on the east-side of Richland Avenue. Richland Avenue will be open to traffic during the project, however, the lane closest to the work zone will be closed and traffic will be shifted to use part of the center lane. The sidewalk in the work zone will be closed to pedestrians - pedestrian detour signage will be in place.
The project is being completed with funds from Ohio University and the City of Athens. The project is expected to be completed in mid-August.
