[ARCHIVED] Franklin Avenue Infrastructure Improvements Project

AEP will continue working on utility relocations this week. York Paving will be working around AEP's schedule and will continue sidewalk replacement when possible.

The infrastructure improvements project includes upgrades to the stormwater system, replacing out-of-date water meters with new water meters, replacing specific sections of damaged curb and sidewalk, and constructing standard curb ramps at street intersections. Franklin Avenue will be resurfaced with asphalt once the utility work and sidewalk work has been completed.

The project is being funded by Community Development Block Grant funds and local funds.

Questions or concerns may be directed to the City of Athens Engineering and Public Works Department, 740-593-7636.
