Highland Park Community Build Day
The Athens Arts, Parks & Recreation Department and the Highland Park Playground Committee are excited to be hosting a volunteer build day on Saturday, November 5 starting at 9:00 am. Thanks to a grant from Dr Pepper/Snapple Group and KaBOOM! a new playground will be installed at Highland Park. Volunteers are needed to assist in constructing the playground equipment and placing it in the ground. This event is open to anyone that would like to help. Children and families are welcome to attend and help out in beautifying the park through raking leaves, picking up sticks, and general cleanup. Civic community service groups are welcome to volunteer as well. Music, food, and drinks will be provided. Pre-registration is not required but is encouraged. Please wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes.
