York Paving plans to begin construction work for the North Congress Area Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project on May 22, 2017. The project will replace the existing sanitary sewerline between North Congress Street and Mound Street, the length of the project extends from near 93 N. Congress to Ring Street. The project includes replacement of the existing sanitary sewerline, replacement of the first several feet of existing sanitary laterals (the individual line to the home), new manhole installation, and select repairs of the existing storm sewer tunnel in the vicinity of the sanitary line. The alignment of the new 8" sanitary mainline follows the alignment of the existing 6" sanitary mainline within the existing city utility easement in the area. To install the line and the lateral connection, the City Contractor will need to perform excavation and remove some trees growing over the existing sanitary line or within the immediate vicinity of the sanitary line. The contractor will be required to return the land to existing or better condition than when the project starts, to include replacing gravel parking areas, regrading and replanting soil with grass, replacing large trees, etc. York Paving will begin construction near 93 N. Congress Street and continue with construction towards Ring Street. They expect to be complete with the project in August, 2017. During construction there will be a short time when Pine Place will be closed between 4 Pine Place and 8 Pine Place. We appreciate your cooperation with this worthwhile project.
