The City of Athens is hosting an Open House to provide interested parties an opportunity to review and comment on the planned NW Bikeway Spur Phase III Project.
The proposed project includes the construction of a bikepath between Armitage Road and University Estates Boulevard, connecting the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway to the northwest area of the City, an expanding corner of Athens.
Construction is slated for late 2018 - 2019.
The Open House will be held Thursday April 5, from 3:30 pm to 6 pm in The Reserve at the Falls Community Room, 29 University Estates Boulevard. City representatives will be available during the Open House for general questions about the project, and to gather feedback and any concerns about the project, environmental issues, historic issues, or features in the project area. Citizens are encouraged to drop by any time between 3:30 pm and 6 pm to complete a comment form, speak with a member of the project team, and share their thoughts on the project. There is no fixed program.
Information from the Open House, including the comment form, will be posted on the City's website, www.ci.athens.oh.us/115/Engineering-and-Public-Works, by April 5, 2018 and will be available for review and comment until midnight on Monday, May 7, 2018.
If you are unable to attend, but would like to provide comments or have questions, please send them to 30 Curran Drive, Athens OH 45701, or via email to epwsupport@ci.athens.oh.us, or through our online comment form on our website.
The Open House is ADA accessible. Individuals needing interpretation or special assistance services should contact the Engineering and Public Works Department, at epwsupport@ci.athens.oh.us or (740) 593-7636 by April 2, 2018.
