The City of Athens is hosting an Open House to provide interested parties an opportunity to review and comment on the planned improvements project on Stimson Avenue.
The purpose of the Stimson Avenue Improvements Project is to improve safety conditions, intersections, accessibility, lighting, streetscape aesthetics, and storm drainage. The project will also include improvements to City-owned water and sewer utilities. The project limits are between the East State Street intersection and the Grant Street intersection.
The Open House will be held Tuesday December 11, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm in Event Room A of the Community Center, 701 East State Street. City representatives, along with representatives from WSP USA, the design firm, will be available during the Open House for general questions about the project, and to gather feedback and any concerns about the project, environmental issues, historic issues, or features in the project area. Citizens are encouraged to drop by any time between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm to complete a comment form, speak with a member of the project team, and share their thoughts on the project. There is no fixed program.
Information from the Open House, including the comment form, will be posted on the City's website, www.ci.athens.oh.us/115/Engineering-and-Public-Works, by December 11, 2018 and will be available for review and comment until midnight on Thursday, January 10, 2019.
If you are unable to attend, but would like to provide comments or have questions, please send them to 30 Curran Drive, Athens OH 45701, or via email to epwsupport@ci.athens.oh.us, or through our online comment form on our website.
