[ARCHIVED] FIRE HYDRANT FLUSHING SCHEDULED

The Athens Fire Department will continue testing and flushing fire hydrants the week of September 23 – September 27, 2019 throughout the Near East neighborhood (North and South of E. State Street in the area from Stimson Ave. to the bypass including Marietta Ave., Arden Place, Patton, Ohio Ave. & Morris Ave.).

Hydrant testing will normally be done between the hours of 8:00am until 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.  Water may be discolored in your area after the testing is complete.  A boil order is not usually issued, but the discoloration may affect your laundry water.

Individuals may contact the Fire Department at 740-592-3301 or Water and Sewer Services at 740-593-7636 for further information.  Also, listen to area radio stations (WOUB, WATH/WXTQ, WAIS/WSEO) for the daily hydrant flushing areas.
