The City of Athens Engineering & Public Works Department will continue the 2019 Street Improvements Project, which includes milling, paving, and crack sealing of various streets within the City.
Below is the schedule for 9/30/19 - 10/4/19 of paving/milling:
-Hooper Street – Street Closure 9/30/2019 - 10/4/2019 to replace bridge wearing surface and roadway approaches. The road will be closed from 58 Hooper Street to Hastings Road. The posted detour will be: Hooper Street to Longview Heights Road to Mulligan Road to Hickory Street to Canterbury Drive to Richland Avenue.
-Cable Lane – From Stroud’s Run Road to 18 Cable Lane.
-Crack Sealing - Various Streets.
This schedule is subject to change in the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
One-way traffic will be maintained with flaggers; however, motorists are encouraged to avoid the work areas.
Parking on the street will not be allowed during the scheduled work. On street parking will be removed 24 hours in advance of work days. Please direct questions to the Engineering and Public Works Department at 740-593-7636.
