The City of Athens announces that a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Water Treatment Plant Improvements Project will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 3:00 PM. The ceremony will be held at the Water Treatment Plant, 395 West State Street, and an Open House will immediately follow, until 6 PM.
The Water Treatment Plant Improvements Project included electrical, instrumentation, and controls upgrades, general plant improvements, and the installation of solar panels. Strand Associates designed the project and completed construction engineering services. The prime contractor for the project was Kirk Brothers Company, Incorporated.
The project was funded through local water funds and through Water Supply Revolving Loan Account funds, administered through the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.
