Good morning,
The Athens Fire Department responded to a structure fire on South Blackburn Road this morning at 8:00 AM.
A passerby witnessed smoke coming from the roof of the house.
There were no occupants in the home at the time.
The fire began in the bathroom area of the structure, and extended into the attic.
The fire was quickly brought under control, and the cause is still under investigation.
Approximated damage to the home is $40,000.
