We here at the City of Athens Arts, Parks and Recreation Department would like to inform you that there will be some big changes coming to how you register for classes and programs. Our department is transitioning to a new recreation software program called Civic Rec. This will be replacing our old system called Active Net. We will launch our new software on Monday, July 11th. Starting on this date, we will no longer utilize the Active Net software.
What does this mean for me?
If you currently have a profile setup in our Active Net system either at a location or for use online, you will need to create a new profile and login. To do this on the login page you will select “Create Account”. You will then receive a validation email. Follow the link in the email to set your password and login. Please follow this link to create your account: Civic Rec Registration Link Click on the "Welcome & Registration Tips" tab beside "Activities" for information on how to set up your account and register for activities. Registration for all programs/activities in the new system will not open until Monday, July 11th.
What if I have a current membership at the Community Center or Pool?
All current and unexpired memberships will be transferred over to the new system. You will keep the same membership number. Please note that this is a lengthy process as we have several memberships so your membership may not be fully loaded into the system during the first week. You will then need to just write your name and member number for access.
What if I need past receipts or other information from the old system?
If you need receipts for tax purposes or other information, please request these asap so that we can provide you with this information. These requests must be placed no later than Wednesday, July 13th. Unfortunately any requests made after this date we will not be able to accommodate as we will no longer have access to the Active Net system.
As with any change there may be a few bumps along the way, we ask for your patience and grace as we move through this transition. Plan for the possibility of longer wait times in person and on the phone for the first week or two as our employees become comfortable with the new system and we get everything working soothingly.
We are very excited for this transition and feel that this new system will be more user-friendly and ultimately will enhance your customer experience!
