The City of Athens has secured York Paving to complete the improvements project on Columbus Road and N. Lancaster Street. This project consists of installing a new water line on N. Lancaster Street (from Second Street to S. Lancaster Street), replacing water service lines on N. Lancaster Street and some service lines on Columbus Road, completing sections of sanitary sewer and manhole lining on both streets, constructing a paved shoulder on Columbus Road, installing a section of center median on Columbus Road, completing select sidewalk and curb improvements, and completing an asphalt overlay and revised pavement markings on both streets.
York Paving plans to begin work on the project on Monday, August 12 with construction for the waterline starting within the intersection of Columbus Road, N. Lancaster Street, and Second Street. Traffic will be maintained by flagging.
York Paving also plans to begin saw-cutting activities next week, working on N. Lancaster Street between Second Street and S. Lancaster Street. Traffic will be maintained by flagging.
