[ARCHIVED] OVST and ARTS/West Present Ohio Valley Live in “Parents Rock”

OVST and ARTS/West Present Ohio Valley Live in “Parents Rock”
September 10 ATHENS, OH – The Ohio Valley Summer Theater (OVST) will present Ohio Valley Live: Parents Rock!, a sketch comedy/live music show at ARTS/West on September 20th and 21st for visiting OHIO parents and the community. Performances are at 6 and 8pm each night with a cash bar and snacks available. Tickets are $15 and include one free drink. The house band is local 80’s cover favorite Holy Spicoli, performing live alongside local comedic actors.

Ohio Valley Live was piloted in April 2013 on Moms Weekend to appreciative audiences. Ohio Valley Live, a satellite theater group of OVST, receives mentoring and coaching from non-profit sketch comedy troop Shadowbox Live of Columbus, a regional favorite for over two decades. The show is a high-energy, fun night out and a break from traditional or classical theatre forms. Show Director and OVST Managing Director Marlo Tinkham says “We are thankful for ARTS/West support. As we know from multiple prior collaborations, their technical capacity will be a great addition. The upgrades to the stage and audience area, including the seating style, are perfect for this type of show.”

Local actors Jodi MacNeal, Heidi Wilhelm, James Euto, Leslie Heskett and Rob Goeller will perform. Holy Spicoli’s local band members are Matt Swintek (lead guitar), Bryan McQuade (bass guitar), Brytton McGuire (keyboards), Sean Sigert (drums) and Joann Wolfe (vocals). Stage Technician is Jesse Harmon.
