For those seeking shelter from the extreme cold temperatures that Athens is experiencing this week: The Athens Community Center will be open for a warming station as temperatures have dropped from unseasonable to brutally cold and windy.
Plans call for the warming station to open at 6 a.m. every day through Wednesday evening, closing at 9 p.m.
