West Union Street Improvements Project – Planned Water Outages and Intersection Closures
The Contractor will be working on waterline tie-ins on West Union Street beginning Saturday, August 9. The work is expected to continue through next week, August 11 - August 15.
This work will necessitate water outages and may include all or some of the following areas: West Union Street (between S. Shafer Street and S. High Street), Coulson Avenue, Shafer Street (between Byard Street and Moore Avenue), Roberts Street, Moore Avenue, Factory Street, Smith Street, Foster Place, Depot Street (north side only), South High Street, and 30 Station Street Drive. A map of the streets possibly affected by the water outages is available at the end of this news release below.
The water outages are expected to occur at 8 a.m. each day and will continue until the construction crews are finished for the day. A precautionary boil order may be issued for any outages that occur as a result of the work. Please check the City website or the Boil Order Hotline (740) 594-5078 for updates.
This work will also necessitate the westbound lane of West Union Street to be closed between S. Congress St. and S. High Street St. each day of scheduled work, until the work is completed each day. Roberts Street is expected to be closed at the intersection with Coulson on August 9 while work is being completed. On Thursday, August 14, the eastbound traffic on West Union Street will be detoured via Moore to Depot Street.
