The Columbus Road Bikepath Spur is a proposed bikepath extension that will connect the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway in northern Athens to the Columbus Road area of the city, near Columbus Circle, through construction of a new non-motorized bridge over the Hocking River.
The plan for the Columbus Road Bikepath Spur originated from the City of Athens Comprehensive Plan and the City Bike and Pedestrian Plan. The City has received Transportation Alternative Program funds, administered through the Ohio Department of Transportation, and Clean Ohio Trail Funds through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for construction of the Columbus Road Bikepath Spur project.
